21 Dec Mykonos Cerámica placement systems for ventilated facades.
From Mykonos Cerámica we recommend any of the following systems for the placement of ceramic pieces on ventilated facades.
R1
This integral system is a mixed concealed longitudinal fixation system (mechanical and chemical) that works by the compression exerted by the system on the back of the plate.
Two pairs of slots on the back of the plate allow the insertion of aluminum profiles that are fixed by means of
stainless steel screws, resulting in a solidarity whole.
The system avoids the possible risk of detachment in case of breakage, for this reason this system can be considered the safest system of all that exist on the market. In addition, it provides for the replacement, if necessary, of a single plate.
Hidden R3
ERediwa C.A.T. 3 to cover ventilated facades is a hidden and longitudinal chemical mechanical fixing system. The hidden mechanical fixing device is made with a stainless steel clip screwed to the vertical structure.
The ceramic is held in position by these steel clips, as their flanges are inserted into the grooves previously made in the ceramic edges.
These slots are manufactured with an industrial machine under the highest levels of security control, to
ensure that both the depth and width of the grooves meet the standards.
On the critical surface between the rib of the ceramic tile and the vertical substructure, longitudinally, there is an elastic adhesive cord type MS, which provides the system with a chemical longitudinal fixation.
In addition, the use of this elastic adhesive makes it possible to absorb the movements of the ceramic coating caused by the wind (the “movements of the plates” or vibrations of the ceramic tiles are eliminated) and therefore the tile is not in direct contact with the structure, therefore what the adhesive absorbs the different expansions between the different materials.
This ceramic longitudinal fixation of the structure allows that, in the event of accidental breakage of a stoneware tile by impact of one type or another, most of the ceramic remains adhered to the substructure without detaching.
In sight R3
It is a visible fastening system (visible staple) that works by supporting and retaining the system staples on the edges of the plates.
It is a visible and punctual fixing system for rigid plates that is thought and designed for works with cladding hung on the facade that require a high degree of security.
Both the base of the tabs of the staples are made of stainless steel. These staples are anchored to the primary structure by means of stainless steel screws. In addition, to give it greater security, the ceramic plates are sealed to the structure to reduce the risk of detachment.
This way of fixing the staples to the primary structure, make the works are, normally, easy and quick to execute.
It is designed to be applied to porcelain material with a thickness of less than 14 mm.
R5
It is a mixed hidden longitudinal fixation system (mechanical and chemical). It provides a high degree of reliability due to its mechanical longitudinal anchoring in addition to the advantages provided by elastomeric adhesives that allow free expansion of the piece.
A pair of grooves on the back of the plate, one in the upper area and the other in the lower area, allow the accommodation of two differentiated profiles. The upper one is in charge of transmitting the loads to the primary structure, while the lower one holds the plate in a single plane.
It does not require a secondary structure, since the hanging profile acts as a horizontal profile. This hanging profile is fixed to the primary structure by means of stainless steel self-drilling screws, so that it guarantees a very reliable fastening.
In addition, this system provides for replacement if necessary, both in one piece and the regulation of these one by one due to out of square.
